Wood Science Consulting was formed by Matthew Anderson, a practicing wood science consultant and timber specialist with 20 years of experience. The firm specializes in the inspection, assessment, and evaluation of wood and wood-based products used in all aspects of construction, engineering and design.  Matthew holds both a B.S. in Construction Management and Wood Products Engineering, and an M.S. in Wood Science and Engineering.  

Matthew has worked nationally and internationally, and has an excellent reputation of helping clients solve their problems.  Clients include high profile engineering and architectural firms, government agencies, contractors, builders, homeowners, associations, public administrations, insurance companies and law firms.  Every client is important, and Wood Science Consulting brings a long history of providing the highest level of professionalism to each and every job.

Matthew remains active in several professional organizations including the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Wood Protection Association (AWPA), the Forest Products Society (FPS), the American Wood Council (AWC), the Society of Wood Science and Technology (SWST), and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).  Matthew is also available for presenting and technical writing regarding a variety of topics and issues associated with wood and wood-based materials.
